Well well well! it’s that time of the year and online/ ofline stores across the country are offering customers mouth watering deals!
What a time to be alive right? Well yeah but i found out that most of these business are atimes less than honest with their offers.
For example they might offer to sell you a TV for 30% less the actual price, but in reality what they are selling it to you for is probably 10% less
While i agree its a business and this is a way to push sales, its not a great feeling when you find out that your favourite store had just conned you.
Not just into buying something you probably didn’t need, but also lied to you about the discount you got right?
Well i feel your pain, i understand because i have been in these situations myself. These are some of the cons of online shopping worldwide.
What i recomend though is that you carry out a simple research about the products you are interested in buying .
You can quickly surf the net for prices, compare and contrast . Also check for product specifications, reviews and yes country of production.
You would not expect an item made in china by an american company to sell at the same price the one produced in The US sells.
For good reason the item produced in US would be more expensive and definetely be better in terms of quality .
It is projected that by 2025 online sales in Africa will account for 10% of total retail sales or $75billion in the continent.
By the 2025 a billion people in Africa would do their shopping online. You can see this is a trend that is here to stay, we can safely say e-commerce is the future.
Nigerians are gradually warming up to this trend, i for one have been a late comer.
Ever since i started doing some of my shoppings online , i can say the experience has been fantastic and satisfying. At the moment my preferred store is Jumia.
I was skeptical initially, but i can testify that their service is first rate.
I recently orderd a few items from their store , all the products came in good condition except for the power bank which worked initially but stopped charging my phone later that night.
So i quickly reached out to them online and got an immediate response, to cut a long story short i was able to get my full refund without stress.
If you are looking to shop for the xmas and get the best deals on almost anything, from appliances to phones, electronics, clothes , shoes, bags , jewelries etc ,i suggest you take advantage of the ongoing black friday deals on jumia and konga.
